I went there for my mums birthday 8 of us in total, staff were polite and very helpful. The food was fantastic, and fairly priced.

Just off the A17 about 3 miles from Newark we stumbled upon this lovely pub! We arrived about 5pm today (Sunday) and Sunday roast was finished and in fairness the pub was very quiet. The amazing landlady ensured we didn't leave hungry and although food was finished she fixed both me and my husband a meal ! Found this place by accident. Ordered 2 Sunday lunches. Food was all home cooked and was stunning! Service was good, and staff really friendly. Will definitely call again and can highly recommend.

Only had drinks so can't comment on the food. But what a lovely pub! Great staff, well decorated and spotless toilets. Nice comfy outdoor area too

I recently had the pleasure of hosting my christening lunch at the pub, and I must say that I had a fantastic experience. The staff at the pub were incredibly accommodating and went above and beyond to make sure that our event was a success. The highlight of the lunch was the excellent buffet that was put on by the pub. The food was delicious and there was a great variety of options to choose from. It was clear that a lot of thought and effort had been put into creating a buffet menu that would cater to everyone's tastes. What really stood out to me was the friendly and welcoming atmosphere of the pub. The staff were attentive and made sure that all of our needs were met. They were always on hand to offer assistance and were happy to answer any questions we had. I also want to commend the landlady, Sarah, of the pub for her exceptional service. She went above and beyond to ensure that our event ran smoothly and that all of our guests were taken care of. Her attention to detail and dedication to making our event special was truly impressive. Overall, I would highly recommend this pub for both individual dinners and events. The combination of excellent food, friendly staff, and a lovely atmosphere make it the perfect place to enjoy a meal or celebrate a special occasion.

Sunday lunch in a crowded and hence noisy pub. Food average in a competitive market. Underdone vegetables with other ingredients dry. Service attentive.

There was a group of 7 of us that attended on a Sunday, we had Sunday lunch and it was mega!! Absolutely yummy. The service was great and all the staff were really friendly! This is a gem of a pub, a real find and we will definitely be returning. We'll done to all of the team for making it an amazing day 🙌 👏

The food is amazing, cooked to perfection. No pretentious char grilling, no bits of black (burnt) meat or veg. They even have their own micro brewery and the beer is lovely. Out of the kitchen, the bar staff are the stars of customer service. You would find it difficult to get anyone more friendly, welcoming and helpful. It's a lovely old pub but takes a bit of finding.
